Survival Tactix: Recovery and Discovery....

It seems there is some pretty big news on the wrestling horizon. In an interview done by The Shining Wizards Podcast, Marcus "Buff" Bagwell reveals that he's in negotiations with upper TNA management to join the Impact Wrestling roster. According to the interview, he has been in contact with Sting and Eric Bischoff about a run in the promotion. By his statements, he's about 2 weeks out from being in 100% shape.

To analyze the situation seems like almost a bit of an injustice. The critics will scorn because they can't seem to help themselves. They'll call it "another reject" or whatever the criticism of the day is and dismiss the possibility of a winning contribution from a member of the old guard of WCW. I think this assessment is self-defeatingly short sighted and bearing a COMPLETE lack of imagination on the part of those critics. That said, it also remains to be seen what harm another former WCW talent could do to help out the brand. With Sting on the sidelines and the TNA world sitting on cruise control, so to speak, until the first Thursday of the new year, it could benefit the card to have a familiar face from the past to cater to those WCW era fans.

On a WWE note, something occurred to me. Right now, the plan is for The Rock to win the WWE Championship at the upcoming Royal Rumble. NOW, with that being said, there have been rumors for a while now that WWE has been crafting a brand new WWE Championship Belt to replace THIS class-less monstrosity......

I can think of no better time or place or Superstar to introduce the brand new belt design than The Rock, IF WWE plans to keep him around until Wrestlemania or shortly thereafter. Evacuating the "CHAMP" belt would be even MORE welcome if I didn't have this hunch that the new belt will have the same word etched on the face. I have to shake my head at what terrible circumstances have fallen upon a belt that USED to look like this.....
