Survival Tactix: Money Feuds....

I would like to keep things rolling in the anticipation of Thursday by delivering some of the best feuds in the past decade.....these happen to be personal favorites. This, by no means, infers they ought to be the best in anyone else's eyes. Since I'm NOT partial to TNA in terms of good feuds, and particularly not in regards to WWE in the early to mid-2000's. I say let's work from the past forward......

1. Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H.....

This is one of the most brutal and long lasting feuds to have come from WWE in a VERY long time. It began on July 22, 2002. After a night of pleading for Michaels to come back to RAW after the nWo had disbanded, Triple H turned on him, turning the D-X reunion into the makings of a money feud that lasted until Bad Blood 2004 on June 13, 2004. This also marked one of the most progressive uses of the Hell in a Cell gimmick, putting a cap on the storied feud for good.

2. CM Punk vs. John Cena.....

I can hear some of you gasping as I have two WWE feuds back to back, but in all truth, despite my lack of enthusiasm over the matches that were featured as a part of this feud, the building of the feud was done quite well. Fact is, that very feud gave us the notorious "Summer of Punk" pipe bomb of 2 years ago. I've posted that very footage twice in this blog's archive so I won't bother this time. WWE may have botched the feud by ending it so abruptly, but it stills stand out as a favorite by sheer virtue of being a catalyst. I had me hoping things would turn for the best.

3. TNA vs. Aces and Eights......

Despite how things have been kept at a stand still for a time, this STILL is quite possibly in my top 3 or 4 feuds TNA has ever put out, beating the MEM vs. Frontline by a wide margin. Why? Unpredictability, mystery, brutality, and body count. This feud has put more people on the storyline sidelines than any TNA feud before it. Fact is, the Nexus incarn kixations may have had the shock factor of destroying everything in sight, but TNA's Aces and Eights beats even that by the waves and waves of new members that would come out to keep the numbers game always in their favor.

4. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels.....

Over 100 times, Daniels and Styles have met across from one another all over the world. Every time they deliver, every time they bring their game. THIS is the longest lasting feud on this list. In the most recent encounters, they have decidedly put the cap on the rivalry....or have they? If I were booking this out, I would FINALLY give Daniels his just desserts and give him a World Title reign. This would HAVE to lead into either Bound for Glory or Turning Point, giving AJ his World Title redemption.

5. James Storm vs. Bobby Roode......

One of TNA's best rivalries with one of the biggest revenge paydays in their history. Its beginnings were called questionable, but I say that it was the beginning of a GREAT upturn for TNA and set the stage for the year to come.

6. Batista vs. Triple H.......

The setup for this feud was almost perfect.....the Animal wins the Rumble match and has his choice of which title to pursue and it all looks as if Evolution could split into two halves, set to conquer the entire roster, but then 'ol Dave hears a conversation between Ric and Trips calling him a mindless drone or something to that tune. The thumbs down taunt really stands out as something truly iconic to his character and THAT was where it all started.

I could really go for 10, but I'll save the last 4 for later.....until that time, take notes, speculate as to what might be coming down the pike and keep looking forward to tomorrow......
